ReDesigners At Reading Climate Festival and Youth Fair
Join us and a host of brilliant sustainability organisations as part of this year’s Reading Climate Festival. Explore even more sustainability learning opportunities coming up over the next few months!
Running for the last few years the Reading Climate Festival is back, both online and in person. From Saturday the 24th of September to Sunday the 2nd of October, concurrently with the UK-wide Great Big Green Week. Its aim is to inspire and encourage positive action on climate change, supporting Reading’s commitment to being a Net Zero, climate resilient town by 2030.

We’ll be joining the free Reading Climate Festival Youth Fair on the 24th (this Saturday) at Reading School.
The fair will be from 10 am to 4 pm and you can book your tickets in advance.
As part of it we’ll be running a “ReDesigners for the Climate” session from 11:30 to 12:30 am to officially kick off our ReDesigners Reading programme and engage young people in prioritising the sustainability/climate topics that matter to them. We’ll also be launching an online survey to support crowdsourcing this.
They’ll be a host of other brilliant organisations and workshops at the fair, such as, Let’s Go Zero, the Ministry of Eco Eductaion, Sustrans and of course our friends Reading Hydro CBS ( who Erica coordinates their volunteer education team).
Reading Hydro CBS will also be running an online session later in the week “Learn with Reading Hydro”, particularly aimed at educators. They’ll be sharing an overview of some of the learning opportunities and educational ideas being developed, where Reading Hydro could link with the curriculum (and beyond).
Alongside, sharing examples, including from a local primary school teacher whose class visited and developed linked activities.
There will be time and opportunity for those attending to ask questions, share ideas and support in guiding Reading Hydro’s education focus and offerings for all.
